7 worlds. One life.

Qualot was my first Commodore 64 game written in assembly language, created in 1985. It is a simple arcade game with a straightforward goal: collect every Flippo and survive the journey across seven alien worlds.

There is only one life. Avoid the aliens, watch out for traps, and choose your route carefully — the different types of terrain can be just as dangerous as your enemies.

How to play

Collect all the Flippos on a planet, then return to your starting point to reach the next world. Cross bridges, find safe paths, and keep clear of deadly ground.

Explore seven worlds: Tramessa, Asteroida, Trellora, Lesroll, Treewop, Sky Base and Qualot.

Controls & download

Use a joystick in port 2. In an emulator, configure keyboard controls to emulate joystick port 2.

The download is a D64 disk image for a Commodore 64 or a compatible C64 emulator.

A small piece of my C64 history

This is where my journey into C64 assembly programming began: a modest game from 1985 which was published by Markt & Technik in a special issue, shared here as a piece of my personal programming history.
